I don't think he's being 'overhyped', people are just talking a lot about him because it's mid-August and nothing else is going on. I haven't heard anyone say he'll be a future top-pairing defender or even top-4 guy. I've heard a lot of, 'he might need a year in the AHL' or 'he could play on a team's bottom pairing'.

Water under the bridge, but Ray should have made him sign in NJ and then tried to move him. If Kovy wasn't willing to do that then tell him to wait. It turned the situation from us willing to trade a signed asset into making him a free agent with us trying to shake the signing team down for a vig.
